Betrayal of Trust

    Betrayal of Trust

The rage burns deep within my soul,
It consumes my reality each and every day.
I can’t escape the pain of the deceit and lies.

All that I thought I had has been shattered like glass.
I try to pick up the pieces and rebuild what I thought we once had.
I thought you were my friend, my lover, my protector, my hero.

I believed in you, I believed in us.
The tears that I cry are for innocence lost,
And for the betrayal of trust.

I liked this. Can put myself in your shoes and feel the pain of it.

Poetry comes nearer to vital truth than history.
