    Breath by Breath

I thought I saw you the other day,
Your hands still clinched in that fist I know too well.
I thought I saw those evil eyes,
The ones that burned me as you cut me with your rage.
I loved you and you slowly killed me,
    Piece by piece I disappeared.
Inch by inch my body broke.
Your never ending grasp digging deeper and deeper.
    I survived by faith.
But the other day I thought I saw you.
Anyday I may still see you,
I continue to live breath by breath.

this is a very beautiful poem i like it very much

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
