    BRUSHED BY CANCER

Yes, it has preyed upon my mother, so dear,
It's caused lots of heartache, wonder and fear.
Cancer is a dreaded disease, we'd all agree,
From which only God's love can set us free.
She hasn't complained, not bitter did her spirit grow,
She learned valuable lessons God would have her know.
Too much complaining, would be for naught,
For the will of the Father, is what she sought.
I think she'd say the suffering was for gain,
And the rewards of the Father are worth all the pain.
She's a great friend; loving, kind, humorous, generous too,
No matter what your problem, she's there to help you.
She's been an inspiration, in all the lives hers has brushed,
And from this experience, many lives God's presence has touched.
She found hope when there was no hope!
Her steps were always very clear,
You knew where she walked when she was here. Her hands on the promise, her eyes upon Him, She wouldn't compromise, her faith would not dim. I never have to doubt the advise she gives, Cause she backs it up by the way she lives. To me, she's the greatest mother there ever has been, Not because of who she is, but because of who is within. To take her place, there could never be another, So, just want to say, "Thanks, God, for making HER, MY MOTHER! I love you, Mama! Sherry 2001

She sounds like a wonderful wonderful woman...

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
