Butterflies.
Once were days of flapping wingsEager little flutterings
Every time when she drew near
My little friends would soon appear.
Now the passions must have faded
Why has my heart become jaded
The pitter-patter I once knew
when she appeared, has left me too.
I still love her, yet I wonder
When could I have made a blunder
What could any human say
To drive the butterflies away?
So in your travels as you go
If you should find them, let me know
I bid you ask them, try and see
How I could bring them back to me.
When they were here, it made me glad
I think of all the fun we had.
Please tell me how I make amends
For I so miss my little friends.
