    Cavemen

The advances in technology will do us all good
But what happened to the old stuff that even the Cavemen under
    stood?
I know that times are different and complicated too,
But shouldn't we do it for the Cavemen, and do it for me and you?

So we can understand fully where we came from, and where our,
    lives have evolved?
But technology has fixed some problems, even kept us from
    being bald,
Look at all the things technology solved
Look at where we are today and where we will be tomorrow
It seems like a stones' throw away
    We can even fix sorrow

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
