    Crash and burn

    Crash and burn

Driving away from you every day I promise to return.
Driving towards you to find this thing called love.
Hoping we can change my heart from cold to warm.
Clear as day I kiss you bye and show you my love.

You fix your lips to say goodbye I say shh.. And give you a hug.
Please don’t wish me bye kick those words under the rug.
You close the door I walk away hoping to return.
To make it back to the person my heart truly yearns.

Clear as day I drive away nothing but love on my mind.
Driving till I met the road that resembles squiggly lines.
I was Almost home at least I thought watching the passing cars.
Trees’ soaking in the rays of the sun my home is not too far.

Here comes this car left turn signal afar nowhere to turn,
Why is he invading my lane?
I slam on my breaks, tell me this is a mistake,
Will I ever see my love again?
    Slowly drifting life slow motion,
    He must be insane.
    This can’t be happening,
I tell myself over and over again.

    Life is a blur I don’t know what’s happening,
God let me see my love again.
Cars collide and I am dying,
Don’t say bye and I’ll be back again.
    Kick goodbye underneath the rug,
I have to make it back to your kiss and hug.

I cannot die she never said goodbye,
     Love save me once again.
Slowly waking head rising from the steering wheel,
My head is pounding Pain strikes me tell me this isn’t the end,
Smoke surrounds me she’s not around me,
    I need her comforting.

Cell phone calling don’t remember dialing,
    I hear your voice again.
Help me love come to the rescue,
    I’m so hurt I don’t know what’s happening.
Here you come to the rescue Mounted Calvary to grab my heart again.

Knock on the window, a pull on the door.
Who is this woman trying to get in?
Do you need help? Ambulance on the way,
The doors crushed shut I can’t help I can’t get in.
Can you move? I Try the back door leaping in pain to the one I love,
    Even though I need rescuing.
Just in time she’s at the door.

Question asking Mr. Officer can you tell me what happened?
    I just reply ….
    He came in my lane!
    He came in my lane!!!
    He came in my lane!!!!
Please stay still Sr. you might be hurt,
Bring the stretcher ambulance take him in.
Baby I’ll be waiting for you at the hospital,
    And your mom she’s coming.
Sirens going as they strap me to this board,
Neck is hurting, chest is painful someone tell me where my love is again.

Dr. Dr. here he comes with all his testing,
Thinking none of your meds will make this pain end.
You’re just harassing with all you questions,
    When will the torment end?
When it’s time to go, they ask where will I go?
With my mother or my love and friend?

Seconds past and I chose my love,
    Wishing the pain would end.
As we leave and reach where my healing shall begin,
I break down in light of it all on her comfort.
And in my surprise here comes the yelling.
I can’t deal with this, you should have gone with your mother!
Where is my love and comforting?
I survived my collision but something’s missing,
Part of me vanished and I lost my love and friend.
I’d rather have died crashed and burned than live through this again.

Driving away from you every day I promised to return.
Driving towards you to what I knew was love.
You changed my heart from cold to warm.
But the time for you to show your love,
My heart went from whole to torn.
    I’d rather crash and burn,
    Then take another turn.
     On this road called love.
