DOGS

Dogs
No other does the hair fly further on
Than dogs
In the house
On the lawn
Dogs
Dig all the best holes in all the best places
Run like crazy when a truck goes by
Trying to catch it
Dogs
Have my entire attention
Arriving home
Biscuits to hand out
And paws to shake
All around
The dogs of my heart
Will never escape

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
