    WRITE A POEM

I'd like to write a poem
I'd like to win the race
I'd like to make lines in the sand
Make people I suspect of being wrong to cross it
    I'd like to judge
    Smear, spread, stare,
    but really
I 'd just like to write a poem

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
