Don't Cry for Me
You wonder, “Why did this happen?”,
and you cry out ,“What is to be?”
In contrast, I hold my head up
in awe, still blissfully happy.
I've had my moments in the sun.
I have known days in the cool shade.
I have felt life's sweet winds caress
and hold my soul and my face.
I've known laugher, love, and sorrow,
and I have had a deeper life
than many who surround me will
ever know, feel or realize.
So, I say, no, don't cry for me.
Instead, just dare to celebrate
that you and I were here to touch,
to love, so entertwined by fate.
And when I leave, look to the sky
and watch my sun shine so bright
on each day of your life until
we shall again meet in His light.
