Fate
The autumn breeze blew you to me,
just a leaf tumbling in the wind.
I could have let you keep rolling;
but I lifted you, called you “friend”.
Held you tight in my hand and heart,
rejoicing your colors and hue
and the fine texture of your soul.
Lovely shades of orange, never blue.
With days so full of life, laughter
and great wisdom, we share as one
the love of our great creator,
the earth, the moon, the stars, the sun...
Our friendship forever precious.
Until the end, I shall ever be
so humbled and so grateful that
the winds of fate blew you to me...
