Don't Need Me

Don't Need Me

I'm standing in the present, and my past is planted in my rearview.

Then the object appears closer, so what am I supposed to do?

So, really why now, what am I supposed to do for you?

We stopped talking, and we grew apart so I pushed through.

How do I know you're not lying, just to see what I will say?

How do I know your sincereness isn't  phony, just so you can have it your way?

So, why do you need me, people don't just say that without a real reason.

I'm not even going to lie, getting

that text from you was real displeasing.

Don't need me because I'm unsure if I am who you really need.

I don't know because I believe you have been doing just fine without me.

Don't need me just because it may be convenient for you.

Don't need me just because you need someone to help you go through.

Don't need me if you're not really for real.

Don't need me if this is just some sideways deal.

Here I am in my present and my past is in my rearview.

I was working on writing my way through this, I was almost there, now he claims he needs me, what am I supposed to do?
