Don't Take Me Lord, Not Yet
Don't take me Lord, not yet
when life's so great
and pain is sweet
when struggle is fun
and victory has yet to be won.
Don't take me Lord, not yet
when my part was halfly played
when trials has to be conquered
when ambition has to be fulfilled
and earthly treat is consummated.
But when I'm old and grey and they
need me no more
when my role is up and life's a bore
when fate dictates it's all finished
then take me Lord, I won't regret.
when life's so great
and pain is sweet
when struggle is fun
and victory has yet to be won.
Don't take me Lord, not yet
when my part was halfly played
when trials has to be conquered
when ambition has to be fulfilled
and earthly treat is consummated.
But when I'm old and grey and they
need me no more
when my role is up and life's a bore
when fate dictates it's all finished
then take me Lord, I won't regret.
