    Double Take

    Double Take

... it all starts with the first glance...
unsolicited, unsensored, undiluted, the first glance is surreal,
and yet, so real, it threatens to immerse you,
to quench your ego in reality,
to expose you for what you are, and for what you are not…

the first glance is a prelude to the double-take...
    executed with topspin and backspin,
    preceded by it's own conclusion,
    the double-take is relatively comforting,
it is affirmation of what has been put into perspective,
and/or taken out of context since the first glance,

collectively, the first glance and the double-take are phase-one,
the firts of many to follow, which ultimately, provide the sense that you are a part of, not apart from the big picture…

phase one of grasping the essence of the reality that life is but an illusion, which is yours to accept as-is, or to shape, form and mold into a reasonable facsimile of what you need to make the journey from one moment to the next…

it all begins with the first glance, and as one synapse yields to the next, perception yields to interpretation

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
