Poem Commentary

"If not for you, I could never have found myself. Thank you will never be enough."

"Drawn to the Sea"

Dedicated To My Father: Everett S. Miller

“Drawn to the Sea”

As I drifted to sleep
tears falling from my face
My dreams will soon find me
My own special place

While searching through memories
The clouds finally clear
Through childhood dreams
Of the ocean so near

While standing with ease
at the dock of the bay
An unforgetable scent
Draws my heart to this place

Now searching our world
Through every sand of time
Memories are withheld
in the scent of the tides

At the end of the pier
My arms reach to the sky
A rich scented breeze
has now cleared my mind

To the glow of the moonlight
The stars shine so clear
A world filled with wonder
for my memories are dear.
