    Emerald Eyes

I watch her walking along the sand;I wonder what she's thinking?
Wind is whipping all around, like the unanswered questions.
An eagle on an espy takes my attention
    from her.
As I wander off, not far from the unanswered
    questions.
This is a beautiful place, as she is in my eye.
Eyes of green like the sea, hair of silk.
She's afraid the truth will hurt, too much for me to endure.
We walk our own paths, like that of life.
I used to walk beside her, now I walk divided.
The cry of an eagle echoes through my heart, as does her love.
Such a resonance, as my love yearns to be held once again.
By the woman with the emerald eyes.

    ..........................................................

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
