Fallen Leaves

Summers end tells changing seasons…
Dropping leaves now give the reasons.
Giving back to mother earth…
'Til springs new life spawns warm rebirth.

Drifting spinning spiral death…
Chilling cold sings winters breath.
Ground awaits to rot away…
The fallen leaves in times decay.

To the demise of loves long season…
Gives to hold, and see the reason.
Shadows dead upon the ground…
Ghostly figures spirits bound.

Passing life whirls round the dead…
Beneath the tree, emotions spread.
Cast to foil in life's long chain…
To feed new beauty, release the pain.

For to this failing past long story…
Futures build in living glory.
New life springs from putrefaction…
All part of true loves purification.

i wonder if putrefaction and purification is a working team on those levels of existence in the ethers ?-anyway i like this poem though i think some of the lines could easily be reversed and mean the same effect

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
