    Falling Stars

You gaze upon the work of art
Illuminating your awestruck face like falling stars
Your eyes reflect the color within
Lovely reds, violets, blues and golds color in
    Those magnificent eyes of yours

It's a portrait of us I told you I'd paint
Since we've been having rough times as of late
Your face lights up like the sunrise sky
You hold me and say "I'm yours and you're mine"
From those honest lips of yours

Finally the truth spills from behind your shield
You said "baby, for you, love I'll always feel"
I said I'm sorry and so did you
The depth of our love could launch us to the moon
As I tightly hold your hand

    I know I love you.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
