Family
FAMILY
What ever happened to the days, when family values mattered?
When all would stand together, in happiness or sorrows
The family use to be a support zone, when things weren't going right
And when sadness turned to gladness, they were there to share the joy.
Today it seems the family, has lost its main importance
Now people go their separate ways, and never even notice
The family is no longer, the place where safety lays
Because the members drifted, and lost the reason to stay.
In years gone past the family, did last through trials and tribulations
The family of the present years only looks for self preservation
No one thinks there is a need, for being a close knit family
We just wander through life selfishly, thinking we are the one who matters.
We have a generation of children, who have never known the joy
Of sharing family gatherings and place to always go home
They are growing up to see, that a family has no importance
Though we the children of years past know that is not what should happen.
How do we get the family back, to caring and devotion?
Instead of hurt and loneliness, but joining together with importance
A family should be a treasure, held close and in your heart
But we all need to give up the ghost, of selflessness to start
The family of the long lost years, stood together to the end
And supported generations, of family, children, and friends
We need to try to find the way, back to the days of past
When we can all take in the joy, of a family that will last.
What ever happened to the days, when family values mattered?
