FOR MOJO(on the passing of my 19 year old siamese cat)
IN NIGHTS PEACEFUL HANDYOU NOW REST
THE QUIET COUNTENANCE OF YOUR FACE
IN REPOSE
IN THE STARS LIGHT
YOU ARE REMEMBERED
AS THE MOON CASTS SHADOWS
UPON THE GROUND
WHERE YOU DID LAY
AND IN THE SUNS LIGHT
WHEN THE RAYS SHINE BRIGHTLY
WITH A WARM BUTTERY REFLECTION
RECALLING THE IDYLLIC DAYS
WHEN YOU BASQUED IN THEIR LIGHT
YOU ARE MISSED
AS THE BUTTERFLIES KISS THE FLOWERS
YOU SO LOVED TO VIEW
AND THE BIRDS NOW BUSY
IN THEIR TREES
WHERE YOU WOULD PROWL
AND OBSERVE
YOUR TENTATIVE PREY
HOW MAGNIFICENT YOU WERE OLD FRIEND
A LOVELY SERENE PRESENCE
YOU NEVER FAULTERED IN YOUR AFFECTION
EASING CONFLICT AND CONFUSION
WITH A WIZENED GLANCE
AS YOUR BLUE EYES
EASILY SURVEYED THE SURROUNDINGS
YOU ALMOST APPEARED TO SMILE
AND YOUR ANCIENT LINEAGE
SEEMED TO MAKE YOU
ALL SEEING
ALL KNOWING
AND OBLIVIOUS
TO SUCH FOOLISH HUMAN FOIBLES
NOW YOU HAVE MOVED ON
TO A BEAUTEOUS PLACE
OF ENDLESS WONDER
MEMORIES WILL NOT FADE
AS YOU CHASE THE BUTTERFLIES
AND YOU ARE ONCE AGAIN
YOUNG AND AGILE
MOVING STEALTH LIKE
IN YOUR STRIDE
THE BOND OF LOVE
CANNOT BE BROKEN
YOU WILL REMAIN WITHIN HEARTS AND MINDS
BLESSING MY BEAUTIFUL FRIEND
UNTIL WE AGAIN MEET
LOVE NEVER DIES
