    Forever

    You said we'd last forever
    but forever came to soon.
Love was not strong enough to survive.
    Love, what a trick
    it comes and goes all
    to quick.
    at what price?
    A soul for payment
    can never be reclaimed, as
it leaves not as the lamb
    but, the lion of March.
    Spiralling down
into the deep abyss, it rips the soul
    from within.
    A hunger never plaited
    leaving it empty
    and destitude.

allie: To do so much with so little is very cool. Sad to see lost love is what you write about, but you do it so beautifully. Charles

The emotion comes through in this poem and is deeply felt by me the reader. Beautiful images that elicit deep emotions is a talent, and you are talented. So much is said in so few words. Excellent job.

WOW... what a way to express yourself into words we all can feel. I liked this one, only because I can relate... all to well. This is going on my Favs list. Keep up the good work.

Sounds as though this was written from the heart!! Truly, this is exemplary as Chaos128 has put it. The deep darkness of the lines appeal to me. Thank you for sharing. 10

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.
