Do you like my form?Write a tanka. |

Re: Do you like my form?ok kids...here is my attempt. |

Re: Do you like my form? Here is a tanka I wrote quite some time ago which was published in Japan along with some other poems. It was published in English and Japanese in a poetry magizine; the translation into Japanese was by Rinzu Shimizu San Editor of a poetry magizine in Tokyo call Booby Trap. Traditionally the Tanka deals with a nature theme but it doesn't have to in the English language. |

Re: Do you like my form?Thank you for posting this. Just lovely. |

Re: Do you like my form? This syllabic form can also be used as a stanza form. As well as the 7/5/7 haiku form. Tanka can have the stanza form of haiku added to it by another author or even many authors. A poem can also alternate between tanka and haiku forms as stanzas. Collaborative poems are common place in Japan. |

Re: Do you like my form?i researched TANKA and discovered TMI and extended info on similiar type poetry. One fact about TANKA of interest was that it was done before the HAIKU indicating an ancient art of language. |

Answer: Nah, For some reason I don't find anything Native American done in ridicule funny but then again, I have to remember the source that spoke... I mentioned a phonetic similarity to the word I heard used in the movie for the poetry form word; tanka... There's nothing funny about it, nor was implied by it... I have no idea what you're talking about... The poem itself was intended as light humor, and it is totally unrelated to the remark about the similarity of the two words... As to the rest, I have little doubt readers here will have any problem seeing the credibility in what you profess to know with such authority, about what other people feel in their writings...
