    Poem Commentary

    Oh, how odd! Somebody actually likes me! In case some of my poet friends are reading, don't worry, he is a total gentleman and we both attend West Coast BAPTIST college. We are both mission majors, and he is a little older than me. I just have low self confidence sometimes, and I am thrilled at the thought of someone liking me enough to want to date me! Praise the Lord!

    Girlfriend

     Somebody's girlfriend?
    Me?
    For real?
    Is this another universe
    Or will I be someone's girl?
    Exciting it is
    Though weird at times
    To think that in a bit
    He could be mine
    Cutest on campus
    'Twas what he called me
    Can't wait to see him
    His smile and laugh
    Until we are together again
    This feeling is new
    Full of giddiness
    Glee
    With this new found friendship
    It will no longer be only me
