In the Arms of the Savior

Poem Commentary

I am so thankful that God hears me when I cry. He is more than just a "god". He is the Almighty Father, the everlasting God Almighty. He cares for me specifically and feels all my pain. He is my God- my Daddy. Always a shelter from the rain.

In the Arms of the Savior

Sighs
Cries
Such pain
Such lies
Why me
I want to smile
Have to frown
Life can be easy
But sometimes I drown
Despair overtakes
All joy
All songs
Nothing left
Just me and my Savior
'Tis a lie
When I think I am alone
When storms get my joy
My roots are planted
Firm and unmoveable
Forever soaking
In the love of Jesus
O wrethch that I am
Why me
Deserving nothing but Hell
Jesus gave
The ultimate sacrifice
The ultimate loneliness
Unending pain
So I could smile
In the rain
When these storms come
As they often will
'Tis time to snuggle with my Savior
He knows my needs
He wants us to get closer
Until He alone leads
Here am I Lord
All yours to take
Wipe away all tears
Gently hold me close
Never go away
Be forever mine
To stay
In the arms of the Savior
I forever shall be
Nothing can ever take away
All that Jesus did for me

Hampton commented on In the Arms of the Savior

A sincere and heartfelt poem of the loneliness that can exist in this life and the search for intervention that may never be forth coming from the almighty.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
