Going Home
as he held our daughter
watching her die
the tears ran steady
streaming from his eyes
her brothers and sisters
watching in fear
as she looks up and says
daddy HE is here
he just stares
and then asks who
can't you see HIM daddy
HE is right beside you
i know i'm dying daddy
but i'm not afraid
that's why HE is here
to take me away
tell mommy i love her
and i'm going to be
where she said i would
when HE came for me
as she closed her eyes
and went with HIM
he heard i love you
riding on the wind
at that moment he knew our little angel
was GOING HOME
In memory of Elizabeth Ann
1-4-89 to 1-16-96
watching her die
the tears ran steady
streaming from his eyes
her brothers and sisters
watching in fear
as she looks up and says
daddy HE is here
he just stares
and then asks who
can't you see HIM daddy
HE is right beside you
i know i'm dying daddy
but i'm not afraid
that's why HE is here
to take me away
tell mommy i love her
and i'm going to be
where she said i would
when HE came for me
as she closed her eyes
and went with HIM
he heard i love you
riding on the wind
at that moment he knew our little angel
was GOING HOME
In memory of Elizabeth Ann
1-4-89 to 1-16-96
