    Good ole days

Where are the good ole days
when a promise was a promise
    where love was real love
    where families stayed together

Where are the good ole days
    Where children could be children
    and where neighbors met for
    barbecues on a nice day

Where are the good ole days
    when gas prices were lower
and the cost of a movie and
dinner didn't cost an arm and a leg

Where are the good ole days
where men in charge stood up
for us all and gave an honest
    days work for mankind

Where are the good ole days
where people could build a future
    and where families could thrive

Where are the good ole days
They seemed to have left us
with all the turmoil in life
    maybe some day they will
return just can't wait for those
    good ole days to return

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
