He Had a Dream
He had a dream
That was heard from the mountain top
To the corner of the streets
So we can stop injustice and live in peace
He had a dream
That Blacks and Whites could live in harmony
So we can get together and sing
"My country tis of thee
Sweet land of liberty of thee I sing
Land where my father died
Land of the pilgrim pride
From every mountain side
Let freedom ring"
He had a dream
His dream came true slowly but surely
He's smiling down on you and me
He's glad to see us living in peace
We should thank Martin Luther King
for having a dream.
That was heard from the mountain top
To the corner of the streets
So we can stop injustice and live in peace
He had a dream
That Blacks and Whites could live in harmony
So we can get together and sing
"My country tis of thee
Sweet land of liberty of thee I sing
Land where my father died
Land of the pilgrim pride
From every mountain side
Let freedom ring"
He had a dream
His dream came true slowly but surely
He's smiling down on you and me
He's glad to see us living in peace
We should thank Martin Luther King
for having a dream.
