How dare you
How dare you
How dare you walk into my life again
Uninvited
That was not the deal
The deal was not for you to inhabit two
but for you to release one into the other
I have stared at your face
Your ugly invasive face for 16 years
I had no power to stop you from altering my offspring at the tender innocent age of two
Oh yeah
I fought
I pleaded
I begged you
I changed my bad habits into good habits
I taught
I led
I helped others along the way
BUT still- this is not enough for you
You rendered me completely powerless
How dare you
How dare you
Suck the life right out of people
You hover like dark stormy clouds
Meticulously, you linger
You take Light from eyes causing day to become night
You take beat from the heart
You slow flow
You stutter
You stroke
You are a trans-ischemic attacker
You fluctuate mood
You soften that which is meant to be hard
And you harden that which is meant to be soft
You numb fingers and toes
You knife limbs
You are a neuropathic invader,
Making a simple journey become a difficult task
How dare you F
For years I have watched you
Amputate
Complicate
Berate
Depredate
Modulate
Mutilate
Infiltrate
Suffocate
Castrate and
Annihilate the ability
To Procreate
You just Take and Take and Take
Until eventually,
You exterminate
How dare you walk into my life
Uninvited
And now with your audacity
You have become
My chronic disease
DIABETES
