Yesterday Today
Was not your faultyet I see
I hold you...
Accountable
Was not your sin…
yet I see
I ask you…
Repent
Was not your trespass
yet I post on my lawn…
Private Property
Yesterday trickles into today…
Baby rosebuds gripping provisions and affectionate care
Allowing petals to open in ecstasy toward fresh air freedom
Beautiful vas of deep luminous long-stemmed orange roses
Brightening the otherwise ordinary space
Yet the accidental finger prick alongside a protruding thorn creates recognized discomfort and old red-flag emotions
and then the stir
Are you authentic or do you have a veiled agenda?
Are you swift to disrespect when you think my eyes do not see; when you think my ears do not hear?
Are we really moving in solitary or is that just your requirement of me?
Are you Taker enjoying my Giver?
Or is it this yesterday trickling into today?
Recognition is key that propensity will materialize
Digression is sure to occur
But just as baby rosebuds needs tender care to come into flower
So does the wilted blossom that still has so much existence left in her
For as she progresses
Her watering can, if he so desires to water,
Needs to remain cognizant of the need to tip slowly; tip meticulously
Providing the purest of spring and distilled waters
Free from pollutants
A commitment of cooperation amid the flower and her nutrient
Emerging communally
Standing in genuineness
Radiating in truth
Loving in purity
Respecting their due diligence
Acknowledging they require each other
Desire each other
Complete each other
And together in this knowing
Accept yesterday's attempt to trickle
But pledge together
Yesterday will not destroy today
