I am Made of Glass

    I am Made of Glass

    I am made of glass,
    Though one would never know.
My disguise is much too grand.

I am cloaked entirely by a sharp tongue and strong prescence,
A mask my youth always searched for,
A mask my costly wisdom almost spurns.

I long to disenrobe to sheer nakedness,
To bare my helplessness and desire,
To let down the bridge to my tears.

The fragility of my dreams begs to be touched,
To sing a song even if it is a broken voice.
I am weary from carrying on.

Jules, this disenrobing thing has got my attention. I started reading htis to see if the glass was a metaphor of brittle fragility, ot that someone can see right through you... you are glass, and tonight it is cobalt.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
