    I can't make you love me
    you can't see how I feel
    as I stand here before you
    and your heart's cold as steel

    I can't make you love me
    while I'm begging to stay
    and all you can tell me is
    "Just go away"

    I can't make you love me
    as I stand here and cry
    and you really don't care
    if I live or I die

    I can't make you love me
    and for years we've been apart
    I can't make you love me
    but still own my heart
