I Hate Growing

Momma said take it like a man
Daddy said men don't take it
Momma said be all you can be
Daddy said you'll never make it
Momma says to follow your dreams
Dad said stop chasing rainbows
Momma said she'd always be there
now she's just where all the pain goes
with head alight and confusion thick
I stumble out into this twisted life
just use your head boy that's the trick
get job get married have kids with wife
In light of all that's taken hold
I stagger on in blinding tear storms
now they're all gone I fumble on
Why did I reach for the blessed norms

Oh the struggle to be free, to be just you, without the haunting voices that paved your road.... When the day breaks and you pick and choose what You want for you, disregarding what you never needed, you'll be free, to just be, YOU.

this simply speaks of the conflictin views shared by those we most look up to and finaly loss

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
