    IF I Could Tell You

    If I Could Tell You

    By

    C.L Lawson

If I could talk, then you would know

    that I have a heart

    and love you so

Mommy, if I could I would tell you that you

are the sunshine in my day

    and

the laughter inside me when we play

Mommy, I would also tell you too, not to throw it all

    away.

Soon you will see your life's worth in me

    on a special day

I could tell you I'm glad but I also would

let you know that I am sad

Mommy, If I could, I would

    tell you that even though

I am small, I see you as my tree

    standing tall

    I would tell you I didn't ask

    to be here

    and

I am unhappy because you are there

    and I am alone here

Mommy, If I could I would tell you I need you

    to hold me tight

    and

promise me that life will be alright

Mommy, my world is upside down

and I need you to turn it around

    but

even I know, you will have to choose me over

    your own life

Mommy, If I could tell you, I would tell you

not to give up on me

Someday you will want to see

all that I am and all I will be.

I hope U see all the days U can with your child! Some things we can just speak into existance!

Thanks for the comment. This child is my grandson. And I wrote the poem for his mother to wake up. Thanks again.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
