If I Spent a Day in Heaven

If I Spent a Day in Heaven

If I spent a day in heaven, i know just how it'd be.
I would look at Jesus, and he would beckon me.
He would say "I missed you, all those days you didn't pray."
I would say "I'm sorry," as tears rolled down my face.

If I spent a day in Heaven, I know just who I'd see.
I would hug my grandpa and sit down on his knee.
I'd tell him that I missed him, and wished i knew him better.

If i spent a day in Heaven, I know just what I'd hear,
all the angels singing, grinning ear-to-ear.

If I spent a day in Heaven, I know just what I'd do.
I'd ride atop a lion and get that birds-eye view.

If I spent a day in Heaven, I know just what I'd say.
I'd say "I love you, Father" and sing Amazing Grace.

If I spent a day in Heaven, all this i would do.
After I sat next to God,
and said a prayer for you.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
