    My fingers peruse you
    As my eyes cruise
    The highway of your
    Thoughts
    Chapter after chapter
    Page after page
    The plot of the story
    Sought
    By the curious

But, the labyrinth of your imagination
    Is the puzzle I seek
Hidden within the words you speak
    On this parchment
    But, nowhere near dry
    Or dull
Like the eye of a fish
    Prey to a diving seagull
    Upon a tasty morsel
    Dangerously acquired

    Admired you are
    As your heart bleeds
    Black ink
    On volumes of verses
    Inducing one to think
    Outside the paradigm of
    normal
    you know?
    Benign
    no tension is mentioned
    line after line
    of mind numbing squalor

    Antithesis

    You holler my name
    Through leather bindings
    Imprisoned on a dusty bookshelf
My unrest won’t allow me to contain myself
I snatch you up and begin to read
Embarking upon a journey of whimsy
    I have an epiphany
    Awakening from my hypnosis
    That reading is fundamental
    It’s a narcotic
    Whose high is unsurpassed
    Ideas embossed
    Reality is lost
    Out at see
    An oceanic fantasy
    A mental cons(piracy)
Like a message in a bottle
    Traveling fate
    Unmeasured capacity
    A decoded mystery
    Maybe history

    Predicted.

Data in an Ivory tower learned for what? a measureless hour? statistics and cold comfort with no one to impress, tragic perhaps where is redress?

Wow! I really had to think about that one!! Is that a snippet or a full-on poem?

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

    Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
