Inside a broken dream

Poem Commentary

Everybody has something in their lives to write about, some people have more than their share.....

Inside a broken dream

My distant memories of childhood scenes.
reflections of a face in the mirror
sad eyes looking back at me
Empty hallways where
my memories end....
truth lied again
a foolish end

An open book
I wear my heart on my sleeve
Exposed for all the world to see
To criticize and turn away and leave
And still I stand

My tears no longer hidden
behind locked doors,
Faded dreams, ill fated reality
life's breathe touches me no more
What's this life for

A cold lonely room
sleepless nights,
not knowing what would be in store.
Knots tied up my stomach, waiting
for the sound of the opening of the door
How much more?

Inside my world
my childhood should not have been
a touch of good memories were not enough
to make my broken dreams end
