Is it fair to say, "nothing is fair?"

Is it fair to say, "nothing is fair?"

There once was a boy who knew everything

He saw all the things there were to see

He saw all the things that he could be

He answered all of his own questions

Never missing a beat

He fought for every side there was to take

Reasoning out the weight

And lived for every man's beliefs

Carrying them all as his own

And disagreeing with all equally

He loved all there was

He hated all the same

He slept with a contented mind

He woke with feelings unsatisfied

He began with nothing, not even a name

He died just the same

Save the bullet in his brain

Shot from the gun that knows nothing at all

In the hands of a man that knows nothing at all

This is an amazing composition, in thought, theme and execution. Real irony is a hard concept to master, and you've done a first rate job, here.

Thank you so much for reading some of my works! I am really glad that you enjoy it, and what great complements you give!

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
