    Just Anoher Stranger

    Just another stranger...

    Standing on a corner
    Collar turned against the wind
    Over length hair
Pasted to his scalp by a persistent drizzle.

    An occasional tear
Hidden by the drops of water on his face
    Trying to smoke a cigarette
    To wet to burn.

    Old for a child
Not yet grown to be a man
    Eyes aged by fear
By empty days and no tomorrows.

He spits the cigarette into the street
    Shoulders hunched
He shoves his hands into his jeans
And ambles off into the dark.

    Just another stranger...

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

    Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
