    LATE NIGHT BLUES

    LATE NIGHT BLUES

    Got big dreams
    But been thinkin’ little
    Inside the box
    Watching kinetic clockwork
    Wishin’ it would stop
    And turn the other way
Had this feelin’ the other day
    24 hours passed
Another day of feeling this way
Searchin’ for a path in darkness
    Eyes closed in the light
    Selective vision
    See what I wanna
    While missin’ the big picture
    Now I can picture
    Me as a baseball pitcher
    Or an Astronaut
Instead of sippin’ malt liquer pitchers
    Thinkin’ of my have nots
    Gotta be more than this
    But motivation I have not
    Dead end jobs
    Dead end dreams
    Sippin’ Maxwell House with cream
    Awake at 4am
    Wonderin’
    Starin’ into the night
    Searchin’ for a plight
    Or just a conquest
    Somethin’ gotta give
    Somethin’ gotta shake
    Somethin’

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
