    Left Alone

The first time that I saw you
I knew I had something for you
I never knew then it was love
With my spirit flying high above

I praised your smile and soft gaze
Worshipped you every night and day
Till the moment you walked away
And left my life in disarray

    Affection is a chronic thing
An affliction that will always bring
    Broken hearts and shattered dreams
Leaving you full of tears and screams

Now I live with a hardened soul
And thoughts that are always bleak and cold
I only pray that I get another chance
To get to hold someone's tender hand

    I somehow wished that
I could read your heart and mind
I could have saved myself from
All the pain that I feel inside

Lost love? Can see the words are deep from your heart.

nice. don't get hung up on constructing rhymes at the expense of speaking your heart.

Poetry is what gets lost in translation.
