    Lies

    "I would never lie!"

I just tell myself that to please my God.

But if I had to, I probably would

becuase if I tell the truth people won't love me.

If I don't lie then my friends wouldn't like me.

I Just lie to please other's.

I just lie to get attention.

I just lie to get out of troulbe.

People often say that the truth will set you free,

     but does it really?

If I tell the truth I get hated,

if I tell the truth I get negative looks,

if i tell the truth i get judged,

if i tell the truth i don't get loved as much.

when people say "the truth will set you free, their lying

because the truth doesn't set you free,

the truth hurts, it hurts very bad.

It hurts the most when people are telling you lies

like when people tell you things you really don't want to hear.

My father tells me lies all the time,

"i'm not sleeping with other women",

     "i'm didn't call you useless",

    "I didn't call you worthless",

these are all lies that I had to hear from him,

even though he knew that he was telling me lies on purposes.

And people wonder where i get lying from,

when i lie i do feel bad after words but it put smiles on other people's faces.

And if I put a smile on other people's face then why should I stop lying?!

I love this poem. Even though it reminded me of the lies my dad also told to me. A poem should move you like that. Very well written.

Wow! Thax, you inspire me to keep writing.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
