Poem Commentary

I dedicated this song to my father. "Now we both are happy. We're dancin' to our song..." That part made me think of how great his wedding will be. The reason why I named it "Like Rain" is because the words from the poem gave me that idea. I realized that no matter what you do, anything can weigh you down. Including rain. I've learned in life that the good thing about walking is rain, is that no one knows you're crying. My father has never given up and he has learned that anything can happen but he shouldn't let that stop him from doing what he can for his future; marrying the girl he loves. That...is why my father is my inspiration. That...is why every single day, is "Like Rain."

Like Rain

Ashley my dear
Won't you come with me
Theres something I wanna show you
Remember that old tree by the fence
I think it's waiting for us

Everything I see
Reminds me of you
I just can't let you go

When the road gets dark
And you can no longer see
And we are, are so far.
Just put some faith in me.
And I want you to know
I will never let you go.
Because every single day
Is like rain

Falling down ontop of my head
I wasn't expecting no more
The lateness of the hour
Is always a dread
The moment i've been waiting for.

You were my best friend
The light that lit my candle
My soft and cuddly teddy bear
You are my angel

But you can't always see
What you've done to me.
All the exciting...memories

When the road gets dark
And you can no longer see.
And we are, are so far
Just put some faith in me

And I want you to know
I will never let you go
Because every single day
Is like rain

I can hear it pouring down
When every second goes by.
And I don't hear a sound
I look up in the sky.
But I can't take no more
I need you by my side
You see the stars in the sky
Our chance is passing by

So i got down on one knee
And I looked into your eyes
On this special day, you know
The reason why I cried.

Now we both are happy
We're dancin' to our song
Now here's the time that you should know
I've loved you all along

When the road gets dark
And you can no longer see
And we are, are so far
Just put some faith in me.

And I want you to know
I will never let you go.
Because every...single...day
Is like rain

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
