Little Girl
Little Girl
She was born with no hair,
Just brown and plump
She had eyes that would stare.
Off into the distance and hear
Voices in her mind. Telling her
To do wrong every time.
And she listened until it hurt. Little Girl.
She was misjudged, after days of being honest
The glare could melt hot like candle wax.
Too many visions kept inside a mind so weak and wise.
We thought she could take it all.
She’s a strong girl! She’ll make it she’ll survive!
Don’t worry much about her.
Actions or lack of speech,
She’ll get over it.
The millions she’ll reach.
Little girl’s pain will come like waves.
On the oceans.
Until she reaches for higher lands.
Somewhere high pasted the trees.
Little girl fell to her knees.
Stretched her arms
As far as she could. And shouted!
“Father Please, Father Please.
What does this all mean?
Bring back the Little Girl,
She was meant to be.
The one that smiled from ear to ear.
The one with dreams that were clear.
The one that acted like she was not scared.
When day turned to night.
And Night was so dark.
She would cover her head no matter.
How hot. She knew something.
Was waiting there in the shadows.
For the right year
And right day. To play. With her mind.
Phantoms snuck in from behind, unwanted visitors.
Always come at the wrong times.
Lies without Reasons or Rhymes.
Her heart torn from so much unwanted teasing.
Time to stand tall and walk proud.
Don’t look back, don’t look back.
May that star lead you on your way?
Take only what you can carry.
The Road may get slippery and scary.
Trust in yourself to climb over hills
And into valleys below.
Always stepping at her on flow.
Nothing to prove, nothing to show.
Nothing! Worth dying FO.
She won’t ask for
Anything else.
Won’t take anything
Any mo.
Besides what do you expect?
She’s just a little girl.
