    Midst

    To grow above and beyond
To look but not really see
    I try to respond
But it doesnt sound like me
    To understand why
    To not live in fear
    To try
To live up to the ones I hold dear
    I am told to love
    But what does that mean
    To be well thought of?
To forget all the arguments I have seen?
So hard when you are so small
To overcome the inner struggle and fight
    To try not to fall
    And differentiate wrong from right
A childhood can be unfortunate circumstance
But as long as you hold on to your true self
    You might stand a chance

You definitely stand a chance... "So hard when you are so small To overcome the inner struggle and fight -To try not to fall"... way to make a stand with your inner written voice!

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
