    What it is

What it is i do not know
Midst the confusion, the pain, the sorrow
    I can not grow
    To see a better tomorrow
What it is, is the now that I hold onto
The today, the right here, the pressure of this instant
Is it me? Is it you?
    So resistant
What it is I can not see
The clouds are in the way
    I try to forsee
    Perhaps a better day
What it is I can not let go of
For it is that very what, that makes me hold onto at all cost
For the what is the love
    That I would be lost
    Without

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
