Morning Routine
Waking in the morning is so hard to do.
I hear the big shoes clonking around,
I notice the beams sneak past the draperies.
My bladder screams at me "I need relief!"
But my mind says "NO, I want to sleep"
My bladder wins the battle.
Taking off the blankets is absolute torture.
Goosebumps amidst my skin I run quickly,
To the bathroom where the tile freezes my feet.
I sit on the toilet that chills my once warm rear,
Am I using the bathroom? My mind isn't clear.
No worries it was the toilet.
The walk back to bed is so much nicer.
I can feel the warmth of my blankets,
Aware of the comfort my pillow will bring.
But today is a new day and I'm already awake,
The advantage is here, and is all mine to take.
My bladder knows best.
