    My Angel

    An angel from above,
    showed me how to love.
    Taught me how to care,
and how to always be fair.

This angel led me through life,
coaxed me away from the knife.
Helped lift some of my pain,
showed me everything I could gain.

    Some angel showed me how,
to remain standing high and proud.
to be myself no matter what,
To forget my faults and all my cuts.

The angel taught me to be strong,
to prove myself right, even if I’m wrong.
She’ll be with me every single day,
however, whenever - In every single way.

    My angel, she’s my angel,
my one and only special angel.
None for you, him or even her…
This is angel is mine - for she is my mother.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
