    My Heart's Place

    My Heart's Place

The tears glide gently down my face as I fly from my heart's place

Through the mist in my eyes I look down from the expanding sky

A panoramic view of my Island lies

Contrasts of blues and greens melt and blend together the sky and sea

Silhouette and in circle the Island scene

Here lies my origin, my love, my past

Where my very being and soul began

It is here I feel complete and have peace within myself

Breathing in every essence of the treasured elements

It is here I yearn from within my spirit

    The far-away Island

    My heart's Place

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
