Never The One

Never The One

I need a man who’s not afraid

One who can handle my heart and not run away

One who wants a future and not just a night

Who will face what they feel and hold me tight

Look in my eyes and only see me

Showing me love that I can believe

Don’t just give me words express how they feel

Show me if what’s in their heart is real

What is it about me that makes a man run

Always good for fun but never the one

They can talk to me without any fear

But then they hide when I get near

I will remain strong and continue to look for what I need

Holding strong until I find the one for me

Cool, and straight forward. I guess we poets feel like this alot. I do anyways, from a my view. Keep your head up, and Keep up the poetry...

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
