NEW DAWN

NEW DAWN

THE RIPPLING WATERS ON THE SHORE GIVE MEANING TO A BRAND NEW DAY
A NEW AWAKENING AS THE SUN SETS AND THE MOON SLUMBERS
THE WARM SUN SETS ON MY FACE ITS WARMTH A WELCOMING TO A NEW DAWN
THE BLUE OF THE OCEAN SO SERENE INVITES ME TO ENJOY ITS MAJESTIC BEAUTY
THE SAND BETWEN MY TOES SO FRESH
LIKE A NEW START SO SOFT AND TENDER
AS I LOUNGE I ENJOY THE WONDER OF THE SEAGULLS, ITS MUSIC TO MY EARS
I SEE ALL THE BEAUTY AND SEE A NEW DAY, A NEW DAWN AND A FRESH NEW DAY

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
