OLD MEMORIES: NEW HOPE

OLD MEMORIES: NEW HOPE

I look at the calendar filled in with each note,

Appointments and memos in each space that I wrote.

I’m remembering with joy the year that is done

While looking ahead to the coming one.

I think of the pains of the year that is over

And hope in the New Year, there will be no more sorrow.

I know I have worried, not knowing the outcomes

And didn’t trust You to take care of the problems.

On my new calendar, all the spaces I’ll fill

To do Your good works and to follow Your will.

I will place in Your hands every choice I must make

Trusting Your guidance on each path I will take.

So that in Twenty-ten with its its joys and its sorrows

With You at my side, I can face all tomorrows

The ups and the downs of the year, every day.

I will place in Your hands with each prayer that I pray.

Fill me with Your Grace, Lord, as I meet the New Year

And remind me with You, I need never have fear

That You always are near me to guard, guide and love

So courageous and joyful, through the New Year I’ll move.
